Visakhapatnam is one of most famous tourist place in Andhra; it is also called as Vizag and is particularly well known for its beaches. It has been selected as one of the Indian cities to be developed as a smart city and it is considered as a third cleanest city in India. Vizag port is considered as the second largest port by volume among the 13 major ports in India. Visitors surely will enjoy the tourist places near the city. - Borra Caves
Borra caves are also called as Borra Guhalu which is located in the ananthagiri hills of Araku valley and there will be around 24- 25 – degree temperature inside the caves. The caves are famous for its beautiful structures of stalagmites and stalactites. Actually, the caves were discovered when a cow fell into the caves and surprisingly showed alive in the Gosthani River, the local tribal people believed that the caves must have saved the cow, tribal people worship the Lord Shiva Lingam shaped structures and do festivals during Shivaratri and there will be some of the stones were shining in the light like diamonds and that these stones were combination of marble and limestone which gave them the sparkling effect. The most interesting thing is the formation of stones deep inside the cave. The caves are located 92km away from the port city.
- Araku Valley
Araku Valley is a hill station, located 3200sft above the sea-level and 114km from Visakhapatnam. The valley is very famous for its natural beauty, greenery, and waterfalls, the valley is surrounded by the various mountains and these hills are gifted with bauxite ore, there will be heavy rainfall during June – October months. The main attraction is the tribal people live here, and the coffee is grown in the valley by the tribal farmers under natural practices. The best seasons to visit the Araku valley are September to October and March to May; this is the good place to visit for nature lovers.
- Yarada Beach
Yarada beach is located in a village called yarada at a distance of 15km from the port city Visakhapatnam. The beach is surrounded by the mountains on three sides and Bay of Bengal on another side. The beach will be very clean and one can relax without any disturbances. It is a good place to visit with family and friends. This beach is less polluted and populated calm and clean beach.
- Rishikonda Beach
Rishikonda beach is located 8km away from Vizag. For swimming, water skiing, and windsurfing, the seashore provides you the good place to indulge in the activities. It is for sure that a visit to the rishikonda beach would be a stimulating wonderful experience for you.
- Katiki waterfalls
The Katiki waterfalls are located 4km away from the Borra caves and this waterfalls originate from the Gosthani River and it contains greenery and fresh clear water in its local area. The last few minutes of the trek up to the base of the waterfalls is stiff climbing, you can go through steps and take bath at the base of the waterfalls.
- Indira Gandhi Park
It is located in reserve forest of kambalakonda in Visakhapatnam. The park is surrounded by the Eastern Ghats on three sides and Bay of Bengal on the other side. Nearly 80 varieties of animals and 800 are present in the Zoo. The park is about 11km from Visakhapatnam.
- Kailasagiri hill park
Kailasagiri Park is a hill to park and comprises 380 acres of land covered with different varieties of flowers and trees. The hill is at 360 feet and you can have a view of city and beaches. The ropeway provides a cable car route to the top of the hill and there will be Lord Shiva and Parvati statue at kailasagiri.
- Vuda park
Vuda Park is located near Ramakrishna mission beach in Visakhapatnam. The park contains a skating rink and contains 2500 trees in 37 acres of land. You can see the gym, kids play area and yoga center. In the evening times, you can enjoy the climate and greenery of the park.
