Canker SORES OR MOUTH ULCERS
Canker sores generally occurs in the mouth, lips and appear like small shallow ulcers almost all canker sores don’t require any treatment and heal on their own. If canker sores are followed by the fever then it is better to take the suggestion from the doctor. These canker sores will appear in the mouth and make uncomfortable while eating and talking.
Types of canker sores:
There are two types of canker sores, they are:
- Simple canker sores:
- These may last up to a week and appears four times in a year.
- Generally, these occur in people between the age of 10 – 20.
- Complex canker sores:
- These are not very common and occur more frequently in the people who had previously.
Factors that cause canker sores:
Tissue injury or some stress might be the cause of simple canker sores. Some fruits and vegetables like citrus, lemons, pineapple, apple, tomatoes etc., may cause the simple canker sores. Sometimes braces may also cause canker sores. Whereas the complex canker sores may cause due to the impaired immune system and nutritional problems like Vitamin B-12 etc., some factors like spicy foods hormones may also cause the canker sores.
Symptoms of canker sores:
Some sores inside the mouth, on the tongue or inside the cheeks. Burning sensation occurs during the appearance of sores.
- Gums with bleeding
- Lump on gums
- Redness and painful gums
Home remedies for canker sores:
- Baking soda:
Mix a teaspoon of baking soda with some warm water and rinse your mouth, and is sure to reduce the inflammation and also reduces the pain quickly.
- Aloe Vera:
Rub the sore area with cotton and then dab a little bit of gel directly on the sore. Aloe vera is used for speed healing and also reduces the pain.
The Coldness of ice reduces the pain quickly and also swelling, it will also reduce the inflammation.
- Avoid spicy foods:
Avoid spicy and acidic foods which cause more pain and irritation.
Eating good and quality yogurt helps to reduce the canker sores. It also helps in healing, the coolness in the yogurt reduces the pain.
