Kondagattu Hanuman Temple
Kondagattu Hanuman temple was located at a distance of 36km away from Karimnagar, and the temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman or Anjaneya Swamy. It is one of the most famous Hanuman temples that are located in Jagitial district.
History of Kondagattu Hanuman Temple
The Hanuman Temple is also called as Kondagattu Anjanna situated on the hills, valleys and water springs. It is believed that around 300 years ago a shepherd group was led by Singala Swamiji, who discovered the statue of Lord Hanuman and later built a temple with the help of his shepherd mates, but the present temple was renovated by Krishna Rao Deshmukh around 160 years ago. The temples main deity was Anjaneya Swamy and you can also see the idols of Lord Venkateswara, Goddess Alwaarula and Goddess Lakshmi inside the temple.
It is said that if a woman prays to the god here in this temple for 40 days, surely she will be blessed with a child and devotees also believe that the people having problems like mental disability or any health problems will be cured when they offer puja for 40 days in this temple. You can also a”Dharmagundam”(koneru) where devotees used to take bath before entering into the temple. The most important festival done here is Hanuman Jayanthi, the view of saffron-colored dress of devotees during this festival at kondagattu is a pleasure to the eyes. Generally, some devotees perform “Hanuman Deeksha Mala” over a period of 41 days and visit the Kondagattu temple on Hanuman Jayanthi by walk called padayatra and the Deeksha will be completed on Hanuman Jayanthi. It is estimated that around 4-5 lakh people visit the Kondagattu temple during the Hanuman Jayanthi.
