Air craft museum in Vishakhapatnam
The TU – 142 aircraft museum will be ready to open by the end of September, has told by HRD Minister GantaSrinivasaRao. He inspected ongoing work on aircraft museum where the installation work of the disassembled aircraft was going on. He also explained about the issues related to the proposed construction of an auditorium at MVP colony and beautification of Mudasarlova Park.
GI tag need for chirala silk weavers
Weavers of chirala felt that GI (Geographical Indication) tag for their silk sarees which helps them to survive better. They also felt that they will get more profit if they get the tag. Weaver inherited artistic legacy. Marco Polo’s travelogue stands tribute to their weaving skills. The weavers struggling to live in the face of competition from power loom players. As a result they stopped manufacturing lungis, dhotis and blankets.
Municipal Corporation of Guntur is planning to start Amma Canteens
Municipal commissioner Ch. Anuradha went to Chennai to study about the functioning of Amma canteens and returned to Hyderabad on Tuesday. With the support of local organisations Guntur Municipal Corporation is planning to start the Amma canteens. Akshayapatra foundation in Hyderabad maintains the canteens and provides a subsidized rate of Rs. 24.50. Commissioner said that it was proposed to have 17 points in the city.
